Latvia (Latvia) is a Baltic country in northern Europe. Latvia borders Estonia to the north, Lithuania to the south, Russia to the east, Belarus to the south-east and the Baltic Sea to the west. The most famous travel destination is the capital, Riga, World Heritage Site. There are many other remarkable sites, both in the city and in the countryside, such as Liepaja with its unique old military town, Karosta and its beautiful beach. Kuldiga with its widest waterfall in Europe and Cesis with its ruins of medieval castles are also interesting. Tourists can also enjoy the flora and fauna of the pristine coastline of Latvia, 500 km long and consisting mainly of soft white sand beaches. But be careful: not all EU Member States are signatories to the Schengen Agreement and not all Schengen Member States are part of the European Union. This means that there may be on-the-spot customs controls, but no immigration controls (traveling within Schengen but to / from non-EU countries), or you may be required to clear immigration but not customs formalities (traveling within the EU but / from Schengen countries).
